Michaelmas is on the 29th of Harvest, two-thirds of the way through
autumn. Traditionally the rains set in a week or two afterwards, and
snow starts in the next month, in northern parts of the Baronies.
=20
This year, its a little different. Winter has come early to Carzala -
heavy rain and then storms beset Seagate from the 27th. The wind is
miserably cold, and the rain drives almost sideways into those silly or
desperate enough to be outside. Further south, those in make-shift army
camps are woefully affected, as they are still equipped for the summer
campaign.
=20
But hey, its just weather, right?

Subject[dq-pub] And more to make Merry with
FromStruan Judd
DateTue, 10 May 2005 13:15:50 +1200 (NZST)
Word has come from the Kingdom of Flugelheim that due to a excellent growing
season, stunning late summer and autumn weather and excellent early and late
harvests, their grain silos are full to bursting.

This is even after they have sent over-large shipments both north to Destiny
(in accord with the trade agreement from a few years past) and eastward to
Seagate to supply the aformentioned armies and the displaced citizenry.

As such, Flugelhiem has turned to non-traditional (for them anyway) uses for
this glut of bulk crops. Encouraged by a royal decree reducing taxation on
brewing and distilling, Flugelheim is now producing (and exporting) a wide
variety of beers, ales, stouts, whiskeys, single malts, bourbons, and
liqueurs of the same.

In almost all cases these beverages are of far better quality than
equivalently priced (or they are are signifcantly (20+ %) cheaper than
similar quality) product from other sources. This is still true even after
transportation and warehousing costs are taken into account.

So be on the lookout for the Flugelhiem-Artzdorf ("F-A") label with the
distinctive "Winged painting" logo in your local pub, alehouse, restaurant
or club.

{NB: Due to it's successfuly association with both the Flugelhiem royalty
and various other insitiutions, The Seagate Adventurers Guild has been
guaranteed both a continued supply and a significant price advantage.
However, Guild Security will take a very stern view upon any guild member or
employee caught on-selling the guild special supply. To this end a special
label Flugelheim-Artzdorf Guild Special (or "F-A G.S.") has been struck.}

So, due to a generous supply of grain _this year_, they _now_ have whiskeys,
single malts and bourbons. Riiiiight.

Those wishing to purchase liquor that is better than paint stripper can
continue to obtain quality supplies from The Lucky Ingot.

While planning an adventure for the area it would be good to know if any
adventurer's or GM's have been to Finn's Waste.

If you have been there or know of anyone who has run a game there could you
please get in touch so I can try and keep some continuity.
