Subject[dq-pub] Chilling Effects
FromMartin Dickson
DateFri, 27 May 2005 14:07:26 +1200
Squires of knights known to be close supporters of Sir Gaius de
Malvallet, Commander of the Church's forces against the Dark Circle,
have been seen pasting up broadsheets around Old and New Seagate.

The notices warn of the severe penalties for seditious libel,
specifically the crime of "scandalum bellorum": spreading false reports
regarding the current state of the war.

The sheets go on to state that the Gabrielite Inquisition is actively
investigating sundry publications, republications and individuals
suspected of printing or otherwise spreading malicious untruths and
rumours injurous to the public good and likely to incite panic.

No! Don't burn them. We're trying to move on from our old pub burning days. The guild is a more
sophisticated organisation now, we burn Cafes, restaurants, and occasional boutique eateries.

But not Bistro's.

Bistro's we just demolish.

Why?

Nobody know, we just do.

A week after michaelmas the pub door swings open and a battered Knight of
Micheal is admitted to the guild pub by Security. He looks beaten up and
very tired. After ordering a large brandy which he consumes at the bar he
orders another and a large mug of ale and retreats to a small table in a
secluded part of the bar.

After an hour or so of solitary drinking he finally stands, takes a dagger
from his belt and plunges it through his own heart. At the same time an item
is triggered and the knight is swallowed up by the ground.

Patrons and staff checking the table see only a solitary carving in the
table top....

'It wasnt me '

Some people will do anything to get out of paying for their drinks...

What do DA's etc show the swallowing magic was?
If it was just something like sinking doom then we could pop down to the
centre of the earth and grab his body.
