Slightly more than that.... according to the=20
entry there, the Sea Goddess Haven was seized=20
under letter of marque. Now the wikipedia reference defines this as:

"A Letter of Marque and Reprisal is an official=20
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warrant_%28legal%29>warrant=20
or=20
from a national government authorizing the=20
designated=20
<http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Espionage>agent to=20
search, seize, or destroy specified assets or=20
personnel belonging to a party which has=20
committed some offense under the laws of nations=20
against the assets or citizens of the issuing=20
nation, and has usually been used to authorize=20
private parties to raid and capture merchant shipping of an enemy nation. "

I'm sorry, I don't see that applies.... no=20
offense against the Duke was committed, and the=20
vessel was not of a enemy nation (unless=20
relations between the Guild and the Duke have=20
worsened considerably since the last time I looked).

As I understood it, the vessel in question was=20
borrowed for temporary use. And THEN seized by=20
another party. Without any compensation to the=20
Guild members whose home and business it was. And=20
it seems that this was okay with the persons who borrowed it.

Under the Laws of Marine Salvage, I can see that=20
the previous owners could have a right to reclaim=20
the vessel, but they would be expected to pay compensation....

"A pure or merit salvage award will seldom exceed=20
50 percent of the value of the property salved.=20
The exception to that rule is in the case of=20
treasure salvage. Because sunken treasure has=20
generally been lost for hundreds of years, while=20
the original owner (or insurer, if the vessel was=20
insured) continues to have an interest in it, the=20
salvor or finder will generally get the majority=20
of the value of the property. While sunken ships=20
from the=20

The Spanish government doesn't get to claim back=20
its sunken treasure ships.... and they went down only a few hundred years=
 ago.

Of course, Alusian salvage laws may be different.

Hi all,

=20

I (Engalton) would like to meet with the characters who owned and or
where or are involved in or with the Sea Goddess Haven at the guild
meeting please.

I would like to talk to you about the situation and why it was taken and
then later returned to the Elves. Could the players who want to come
along and talk about it, email me direct at Jonobean@gmail.com

I will try to get William to come along also.

=20

Kind regards,

=20

Jonathan Bean

The events of Autumn 806 were not communicated to those that claim to
own her? I hope that this is a out-of-game oversight/communication
issue.

The Pride of Fingolfin (Sea Goddess Haven) is floating
outside Newhaven and is being refitted by elves back to being a
Battleship.

		=20

Gosh that's nice of them but when are they going to
return it and how much rent are we getting?

Also what is the blue book on it especially now that it
is modified and just which of the current owners agreed to the hireage (
I'm working on a master rank for Asparagus growing).

There is a problem with this....
Simon White the player of Grendal Beetleknox is in Japan.
He was in Japan when the ship was taken, and I know he is unhappy with the
situation.... its just hard to make a fuss when you are only in the country
for a week at Christmas and you don't find out your characters lost him home
until... almost a year later.

Hi all,

I (Engalton) would like to meet with the characters who owned and or
where or are involved in or with the Sea Goddess Haven at the guild
meeting please.

I would like to talk to you about the situation and why it was taken and
then later returned to the Elves. Could the players who want to come
along and talk about it, email me direct at Jonobean@gmail.com

I will try to get William to come along also.

Kind regards,

Jonathan Bean

The events of Autumn 806 were not communicated to those that claim to
own her? I hope that this is a out-of-game oversight/communication
issue.

The Pride of Fingolfin (Sea Goddess Haven) is floating
outside Newhaven and is being refitted by elves back to being a
Battleship.

Gosh that's nice of them but when are they going to
return it and how much rent are we getting?

Also what is the blue book on it especially now that it
is modified and just which of the current owners agreed to the hireage (
I'm working on a master rank for Asparagus growing).

me thinks salvage is a pretty good case here. It was abondoned.

I vote we arrest the previous owners for causing a navigation hazard.
